Heat is one of the most effective physical means of controlling dust mites – without any chemical residues or environmental impact. MiteGuard uses this method specifically to permanently neutralize mites and their developmental stages through localized heating.
Scientific studies demonstrate that temperatures above 60°C lead to the denaturation of vital enzymes and structural proteins in mites. Using precisely controllable heating technology, the MiteGuard creates targeted heat zones that reliably destroy not only adult mites but also their eggs and larvae – directly at the source: in the fabric of mattresses, upholstered furniture, and carpets.
Unlike hot steam or widespread heat application, the MiteGuard uses targeted, dry heat radiation that penetrates deeply yet is gentle on textiles and delicate surfaces. The risk of thermal damage to upholstery fabrics, covers, or mattress fillings is thus minimized.
This thermal disinfection is carried out in combination with other methods such as UV light and ultrasound, creating a multidimensional mechanism of action .
The heat itself not only has an eliminating effect, but actively interrupts the reproduction chain – especially in biologically dense nesting zones such as fabric folds, seams and upholstery cracks.
