The MiteGuard mite vacuum cleaner works with a combination of three effective technologies: UV light , vibration and strong suction power .

1) The UV light kills mites and other microorganisms on the surface.
This involves the use of spectrally optimized UV-C light, which destroys the cell structure of the mites – without leaving any chemical residues.

2) Vibrations loosen deep-seated dust and mites from mattresses, upholstery, and textiles. The integrated tapping mechanism strikes the surface with several thousand pulses per minute.

3) The suction mechanism then removes the dead mites, allergens, dust and hair from the fabric without leaving any residue.

This triple action is significantly more effective than conventional vacuum cleaners and enables hygienic cleaning, especially for allergy-suffering households.

The MiteGuard is particularly suitable for:

- People with house dust mite allergies or sensitive airways

- Pet owners with increased pet hair or dandruff

- Families with small children , for whom hygiene in the sleeping environment is particularly important

- Anyone who wants to achieve deeper cleanliness on textiles in a natural way

Conventional vacuum cleaners are not designed to remove mites or their residue from deep layers of fabric.

The MiteGuard focuses specifically on:

- UV irradiation to destroy DNA structures of the mites

- Vibrations for the mechanical release of deep-seated allergens

- Fine filtration via HEPA technology to retain even the smallest particles from the exhaust air

It is also compact, quiet and specially designed for use on mattresses and the like.

We recommend regular use – ideally once a week , especially for:

- Allergy sufferers (even during pollen season)

- Households with animals or small children

- Guests in the guest room (after the visit)

The application takes just a few minutes and quickly becomes part of your weekly hygiene routine.

The MiteGuard MG-500UV is self-explanatory in its operation . For the best possible effect, please follow these steps:

1) Prepare the surface : Remove loose objects or coarse dirt (e.g. pet hair with your hand or brush beforehand).

2) Turn on the device : The UV light mode activates automatically upon contact with the surface.

3) Move slowly over the surface : Do not pull frantically back and forth like when vacuuming, but let it glide along gently with light pressure.

4) Uniform paths : Overlapping lines are ideal (similar to mowing the lawn).

A mattress (both sides) takes about 3-5 minutes, sofa cushions or upholstery take correspondingly less time.

The MiteGuard is suitable for:

- Mattresses (including box spring beds)
- Duvets and pillows
- Sofa and chair cushions
- Stuffed animals (for children and allergy sufferers)
- Carpets with short fibers
- Car seat cushions and child seats

The vacuum cleaner is not suitable for very delicate fabrics such as silk , organza or hand-knotted carpets , as the vibration mechanism can be too strong.

Cleaning takes place in just a few steps:

1. Switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply

2. Open and empty the dust container

3. Gently tap out the EPA filter or rinse it with lukewarm water
– Let it dry before putting it back in.

4. Wipe the housing with a dry cloth

Please do not use aggressive cleaning agents or sharp brushes .

Yes. For optimal filter performance, you should:

- Replace HEPA filter every 6–8 months (with regular use)

- Change immediately if heavy soiling is visible or the suction power decreases

We offer replacement filters in our shop under “Accessories” that fit the MG-500UV model.

There are two types of brushes:

- Standard brush : combination of brush and rubber slats – ideal for mattresses, upholstery, carpets and general surfaces.

- Special brush : Made entirely of soft rubber slats – particularly suitable for delicate surfaces such as leather or for removing animal hair.

For normal use, we recommend replacing

- Standard brush : every 12–18 months
- Special brush : every 9–12 months (if pet hair is frequently used, this may be sooner)

A replacement is also necessary if there is significant wear or material deformation.
